Working with Reality HDV

Real-time indexing and native HDV storage
Reality HDV lets you index video as the action occurs, encoding it into a streamable format. The result is an index containing video, time codes, thumbnails and text descriptions. The index is automatically loaded on the Searchable Video Library which lets the entire production staff search for specific clips and play them instantly, build stories, email links to review clips from the server and generate a complete EDL, all from a standard Web browser. Reality HDV also stores native HDV. The EDL Reality HDV automatically generates refers to video files and time codes directly on its HDV disks. Editors can simply import HDV video to an NLE, eliminating the need for capture.

HDV Indexing and Storage

Reality HDV takes advantage of Miranda Technologies' new camera-mounted ASI-Bridge CAM and HD-Bridge Dec+. The ASI-Bridge CAM converts HDV MPEG-2 IEEE-1394 to MPEG-2 ASI for transport over coax over long distances. This signal is then fed to Reality HDV via the HD-Bridge Dec+, along with audio and time code signals.
